Rural Nicaragua

If you have three weeks and you feel like exploring different sides of Nicaragua, this tour is made for you. You will discover different Natural Reserves, horse-riding, walking or by boat; you will swim in Pacific warm waters, in Cocibolca lake and in Somoto canyon and finally you will get in touch with Nicaraguan rural life.

 

Itinerary:

Day 1: Pick up in Managua airport and transfer to Europeo Hotel.
Day 2: Visiting Granada in the morning; optional boat trip around "Ls Isletas" in the afternoon. Night at La Granadilla community.
Day 3: Visiting la Granadilla community, walking and having a bull-car tour. Night at La Granadilla.
Day 4: Mombacho volcano climbing in the morning and free afternoon. Night at La Granadilla.
Day 5: Leaving to Ometepe Island and arrival around 12. Tour around the island to know its towns and its beaches. Night at Finca Venecia hotel.
Day 6: Day to discover the island. In the morning trekking to San Ramón waterfall (3.30 hours return) and in the afternoon relax at "Ojo de Agua" thermal waters.
Day 7: Leaving from Ometepe to San Juan del Sur. Afternoon at Maderas beach and night at Casa Maderas Eco-Lodge.
Day 8: Day at the beach.
Day 9: Boat trip to watch whales and/or turtles according to the season. Afternoon at the beach.
Day 10: Travelling in the morning from San Juan del Sur to Masaya. Tour to the volcano in the morning and to Masaya market in the afternoon. Travel to Apoyo Lagoon passing by Catarina view point and night in Apoyo lagoon at Pajaro Azul Hotel.
Day 11: Morning in Apoyo Lagoon, relaxing and swimming in its warm water. After lunch travel to León colonial town. Night at Paz de Luna Bed and Breakfast.
Day 12: León city tour. Free afternoon. Night in León.
Day 13: Visiting Isla Juan Venado Natural Reserve in the morning and relaxing in Las Peñitas beach in the afternoon. Night in León
Day 14: Cerro Negro climbing and sandboarding. In the afternoon tour to the Tiger lagoon. Night in León.
Day 15: Leaving early from León to El Chile indigenous community. Visit to traditional indigenous looms, walk around the community and up to El Chile ill. After a traditional lunch, travel to la Reina community (San Ramón-Matagalpa), where you will home-stay.
Day 16: In the morning, community and coffee tour. After lunch travel to Bosawás Reserve. Night at CEN (centro de entendimiento con la naturaleza).
Day 17: Trekking in the Reserve.
Day 18: Leaving from Bosawas to Estelí. In the afternoon, you will have a tobacco tour. Night in Estelí at Los Arcos hotel.
Day 19: Visiting Tisey-Estanzuela Natural Reserve and La Garnacha community during the day and night in Estelí.
Day 20: Estelí - Somoto Canyon. Back to Managua in the evening and night at Europeo Hotel.
Day 21: Transfer to the airport and flight back home.
